Accessibility statement

Cibbster Designs is committed to making cibbster.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control. This site is built and tested to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. This website is fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, meaning it meets all Level A and Level AA success criteria.

We hold client work to the same standard. Accessibility is part of every build rather than an optional extra.

What we do to meet the standard

  • Semantic HTML with correct landmark regions and a single, properly nested heading hierarchy on every page.
  • A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element on every page.
  • Full keyboard operability, with a clearly visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Text and interface colours measured against the 4.5:1 and 3:1 contrast thresholds, including hover and focus states.
  • Text alternatives for all meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form fields with properly associated labels, clearly marked required fields, and errors announced through a live region rather than colour alone.
  • Respect for the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting — all animation is disabled when it is enabled.
  • Content that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels and at 400% zoom.
  • Navigation that does not rely on hover alone; every menu is reachable and dismissible by keyboard.
  • No accessibility overlay widget. We fix the underlying code instead.

How we test

Every template on this site is checked with:

  • Automated tools — axe DevTools and Lighthouse, to clear mechanical failures.
  • Manual keyboard testing — every page and interaction operated with keyboard alone, checking focus order, focus visibility and keyboard traps.
  • Screen reader testing — NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS.
  • Zoom and reflow testing — at 200% and 400% browser zoom and at a 320 pixel viewport width.
  • Contrast measurement — every colour pair calculated rather than eyeballed.

Automated tools detect only a portion of real accessibility problems, which is why manual testing is part of every review rather than an optional extra.

Known limitations

We would rather be honest about the edges than claim perfection:

  • Third-party web fonts. The site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. If that request is blocked or slow, text renders in a system font. Content remains fully readable, but the visual design differs.
  • External case-study sites. Links to client websites lead to sites we do not all currently control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of content on third-party domains.

How to reach us

Our contact form is the only route to us, so it is built to put nothing in your way. There is no CAPTCHA and no puzzle of any kind. It is a plain HTML form that submits without JavaScript, every field is properly labelled and fills from your browser's saved details, and errors are announced to a screen reader rather than signalled by colour alone.

If something about the form itself stops you from using it, that is a defect on our side and we want to hear about it — write to Cibbster Designs, Lapeer, MI 48446, and we will fix it and reply.

Reporting a barrier

We want to know. If you encounter something on this site you cannot use, please tell us through the contact form and include:

  • The page address where you hit the problem.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • What browser and assistive technology you were using, if you know.

We aim to respond within two business days and to fix confirmed accessibility defects within ten business days, prioritising anything that blocks a task outright.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. The site is built to work without JavaScript: navigation, content, and the FAQ disclosures all function with scripting disabled, and the contact form falls back to a standard form submission.

Assessment approach

Cibbster Designs assessed this website by self-evaluation, using the testing methods described above.
